Now, on the one hand this is kind of a huge letdown. Only being able to use internal assets means no Super Mario Skyrim, for one thing. Then again, and perhaps more to the point, it also means no nudity mods, no sex dungeon mods and no other mods that might get Sony in trouble with parents.
There's a silver lining, in any case. Since the remastered version of Skyrim is so much better looking than the original, we won't need modders to touch up its graphics. I suppose the character faces will still be ugly as sin---I do enjoy the beautification mods---but at least the world will be nicer to gaze at.
It may be a half-baked form of modding, but it's still more than pretty much any other console game offers. I'll be curious to see if, even in its limited form, modding takes off on console. Dalai lama books happiness.
